- Inject a web_search tool declaration for standard Codex requests when input replays web_search_call items without a web_search tool so upstream response protection remains available during compaction.
- Strip replayed web_search_call items from Responses Lite requests where top-level hosted tool declarations are omitted.
Closes: #6770
An attachment a translator could not represent was dropped without a word, and
a turn whose only content was that attachment went upstream as an empty
messages, parts, or input array. The model then answered as if nothing was
attached, or the upstream rejected a request that never named the attachment.
A base64 document now reaches OpenAI as a file part. A file the target cannot
receive, such as container_upload, an OpenAI file_id, or input_audio sent to
Claude, is reported by name so the route answers 400 instead of forwarding an
empty turn. Text beside it still travels.
One rule, ErrIfNothingLeft, decides when to refuse, and RegisterCheckedRequest
carries the refusal on the request envelope. Every executor that translates
checks it before calling upstream. The exported converters keep their []byte
signature, so no caller or sibling test had to change.
- Add `PayloadFinalizer` to apply configuration rules at the final serialization barrier
- Support decoding, modifying, and re-encoding Devin protobuf business fields
- Add multipart form-data payload normalization to JSON for media payload rules
Closes: #5067
- Attach resolved execution model info during execution and token counting even when restoring execution models
- Propagate configuration update support to resolved Home dispatch model info
- Track modifications to configuration updates across plugin normalizers in the translation pipeline
- Mark configuration update support for eligible Codex models in the registry
- Pass resolved `baseModel` directly to `applyCodexRoutingHint` instead of reading model from the upstream body
- Ensure the routing hint header accurately reflects the resolved model across HTTP and WebSocket executions
- Send X-Codex-Routing-Hint ("model=<slug>" plus ";tier=<service_tier>")
on ChatGPT-backend requests over HTTP, compact and websocket handshakes,
matching openai/codex rust-v0.155.0 build_routing_hint_header. Translated
requests previously carried service_tier=priority only in the body.
- Derive the hint from the final upstream body, replacing a hint a native
client forwarded, so it names the model and tier actually sent.
- Keep operator precedence: an auth header rule that resolves to a value
wins, a dynamic rule that resolves to nothing falls back to the derived
hint, and models.json override_header still applies last.
- Leave API-key requests unchanged, and keep websocket reuse as native Codex
does: an open connection keeps its handshake hint when the tier changes.

- Preserve API key entries with empty `api_key` when `base_url` is configured, and extend config dedupe/ID logic to include base URL, proxy, prefix, and headers so identities are stable.
- Update config/auth handling so `auth_kind=apikey` is treated as config API-key auth even without an `api_key` field, enabling base_url-only credential records.
- Ensure Gemini/Codex/XAI request path clears `Authorization`/provider auth headers when token is empty to avoid leaking unrelated auth state.
- Propagate request headers into custom-header resolution for OpenAI/Gemini/XAI/Codex execution and websocket flows.
- Resolve auth `header:` values like `$ABC` from incoming request headers at request time and omit headers when no value is available.
- Add documentation for the dynamic custom-header behavior in `config.example.yaml`.
Closes: #5053
- Added `is-compat` model metadata plumbing from config through executor and helpers, including hash computation.
- Introduced a compatibility-aware translation path (`TranslateRequestWithAPIKeyModelCompatibility`) and wired it into Claude/Gemini/Codex/Interactions request flows.
- Updated Claude message sanitization/translation behavior to keep empty-thinking compatibility blocks (including signatures) when `is-compat` is enabled, while keeping default behavior unchanged.
- Introduced `disable-codex-cloaking` to allow disabling enforced `User-Agent` and `Originator` headers for Codex requests.
- Updated header application logic to conditionally include `codexUserAgent` and `codexOriginator` based on configuration.
- Enhanced config diff tracking to detect changes in `disable-codex-cloaking`.
- Expanded tests to cover new config behavior and header application scenarios.
- Removed deprecated interceptor and executor-related methods, including `callRequestInterceptor`, `callResponseInterceptor`, and `callStreamChunkInterceptor`.
- Consolidated unused logic and pruned redundant imports to streamline `adapters.go`.
- No functional changes.
