- Handle apply_patch custom tool call streaming deltas and snapshots for Responses API translation
- Track and resolve step indexes, function call identities, and error states across stream events
- Propagate apply_patch tool input errors and upstream failure states in stream and non-stream responses
- Detect Codex client requests via User-Agent and convert target numeric parameters to integer types
- Support schemas across OpenAI functions, Claude input schema, Gemini declarations, and namespace tools
- Apply normalization during executor payload processing, multi-agent request translation, and WebSocket streaming
Closes: #6237
- Enable multi-agent input rewriting when model compatibility mode is active, even if `optimize-multi-agent-v2` is disabled
- Ensure `agent_message` items are converted into portable user messages for third-party endpoints under API key configurations
Closes: #6233
- Marshal Codex client catalog as compact single-line JSON without HTML escaping
- Use compact base instructions for non-template models to stay within the 1MiB payload limit
- Keep `apply_patch_tool_type`, `upgrade`, and `availability_nux` present as null instead of deleting them
- Detect Devin models by ID prefix, type, ownership, model registry metadata, or provider.
- Append `(Devin)` to model display names in Codex client responses when not already present.
- Set model `type` to `devin` in home Codex model formatting when served by the Devin provider.
- Resolve canonical templates using metadata model IDs for model aliases and prefixed routes.
- Apply descriptions, base instructions, and thinking support overrides to matched templates.
- Restrict protocol capabilities and reasoning levels based on provider support.
Closes: #5699
- Register builtin model definitions for `gpt-image-2.5`, `gpt-image-2.5-flare`, and `gpt-image-2.5-sunburst`.
- Update OpenAI image handlers and request routing to recognize GPT Image 2.5 models.
- Support direct image generation and edit execution for GPT Image 2.5 variants in the Codex executor.
- Apply client visibility overrides to hide new builtin image models where appropriate.
- Detect `collaboration-optimize.` tool conflicts during multi-agent v2 request optimization.
- Restore dot-prefixed tool calls back to the collaboration namespace and base tool name in responses.
Closes: #5524
- Reuse coresession.ExtractSessionInfo across HTTP headers and request payloads to unify canonical session prefix namespaces with the scheduler.
- Extract hierarchical session identities in two phases: initial extraction from request headers on entry, and authoritative deep extraction once request payloads and metadata are available.
- Support Claude Code multi-level subagents (X-Claude-Code-Agent-Id, metadata.agent_id) and Codex thread fork lineages.
- Propagate SessionID and ParentSessionID across ClientRequestMetadata, UsageReporter, and coreusage.Record without root_session_id.
- Include session_id and parent_session_id in queuedUsageDetail for Home LPushUsage forwarding and Redis consumption with self-loop guards.
- Add comprehensive test coverage for canonical headers, body extraction, ghost parent elimination, and self-referential loop guards.
- Retain `supported_reasoning_levels` as an empty array instead of deleting the key when no reasoning levels are supported or compatible.
- Continue deleting `default_reasoning_level` when reasoning levels are empty.
codex exec sends User-Agent codex_exec/<version>. It was not treated as a
Codex client, so with optimize-multi-agent-v2 enabled the spawn_agent and
send_message schemas kept message.encrypted and subagents routed to
non-Codex upstreams received only an opaque encrypted task payload.
- Add `codex.orphan-delegation-compatibility` configuration option and mirror it to SDK configuration.
- Convert orphan Codex delegation outputs into standard user messages for requests with `X-Openai-Subagent: collab_spawn`.
- Integrate orphan delegation rewriting into OpenAI responses request handling pipeline.
Closes: #5401
- Filter `max` and `ultra` reasoning effort levels for Codex client versions prior to `0.144.0`.
- Extract and forward the `client_version` query parameter across model catalog response handlers.
- Add dotted version parsing and comparison utilities to verify extended reasoning level compatibility.
Closes: #5262
- Add registry generation tracking and a Codex catalog revision accessor to provide stable cache keys.
- Cache parsed model templates and rendered spawn-agent markdown, and reuse them across requests when revision/generation are unchanged.
- Invalidate/recompute caches when model registrations or catalog content change, and separate rewrite handling for spawn tool descriptions vs. message encryption stripping.
Closes: #4967
- Added `grok-imagine-image-2.0` as a first-class xAI image base model across validation, canonicalization, and routing checks.
- Registered the model in built-in model definitions so it appears in model metadata.
- Updated image model allowlists and request validation error messaging to include the new model.
- Marked the new model as hidden in client visibility override handling.
- Generalize spawn_agent tool path discovery into codexToolPathsByNames
driven by a name set, and add codexCollaborationMessageTools covering
spawn_agent, send_message, and followup_task.
- Strip parameters.properties.message.encrypted from all collaboration
message tools (top-level tools and input[].additional_tools, including
nested namespace tools) via removeCodexCollaborationMessageEncryption,
invoked unconditionally before the spawn-agent optimization decision.
- Extend optimize_multi_agent_v2_test.go with coverage for the new tool
path discovery, encrypted-field removal semantics, preservation of
unrelated encrypted fields, and end-to-end OptimizeCodexMultiAgentV2Request
behavior across namespace and additional_tools payloads.

- Add optional `max-context-length` model configuration across supported provider model types and expose it via `GetMaxContextLength`.
- Propagate the override into model metadata so Codex/client model catalog responses honor the configured value (`context_window`, `max_context_window`, and `max_context_length`).
- Update example configuration with documented usage of the new option.
Closes: #4728
- Introduced a new reasoning level, `minimal`, to the `codexClientAllowedReasoningLevels` map.
- Updated response-building logic to include descriptive messaging for the `minimal` level.
Closes: #4542

- Added robust validation of STUN BindingRequest frames before forwarding to upstream candidates.
- Includes extensive unit tests for proxying behavior, candidate validation, and tunnel edge cases.
- Added comprehensive diffing for Codex live media relay settings, including support for public IP, UDP port ranges, and ICE server changes.
- Introduced `displayOptionalValue` utility to handle optional values in diff outputs.
